What this policy covers

It covers EICRs booked and paid for online (£69), and explains your rights for any other work we do for you. It's part of the terms you agree to when you book. It doesn't affect your legal rights as a consumer.

Cancelling or moving an online booking

You can cancel or move your booking free of charge at any time before the electrician arrives. Call us on 07999 553 838, message us on WhatsApp or email office@localelectrician24-7.co.uk — the sooner you tell us, the more choice of new times you'll have.

• Cancel: you get the full £69 back.
• Move: we keep your payment and book the new day and time with you, at no extra cost.

If we can't carry out the visit

The £69 is not refunded if, when the electrician arrives at the agreed time:

• nobody is there to let us in, or we're refused entry;
• we can't get to the consumer unit (fuse box), so the inspection can't be done;
• you cancel the booking at the door.

This covers the visit we've made and the appointment we kept free for you. If you need a new appointment, it's booked and paid for as a new booking. If someone else is letting us in, please make sure they know the date and time — you can give us their name and number when you book.

If we find the property unsafe to work in when we arrive, we'll explain why and agree the next step with you.

If we have to cancel or can't make it

If we need to cancel or can't reach you at the agreed time, we'll contact you as early as we can and you choose: a full refund, or a new appointment at no extra cost.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the card or PayPal account you paid with. We make the refund as soon as possible and always within 14 days of the cancellation. Your bank or PayPal may take a few more working days to show it on your account.

Your 14-day right to cancel

When you book with us online, by phone or away from our premises, the Consumer Contracts Regulations give you 14 days to cancel. Our free cancellation before arrival already gives you at least that.

If you ask us to carry out the inspection within those 14 days, the right to cancel ends once the inspection has been completed.

After the inspection

The £69 pays for the inspection, the testing and your written report, whatever the result. An "unsatisfactory" report isn't a reason for a refund — it means the inspection has found problems that need putting right. We'll explain each one and give you an itemised quote, and you're free to use any qualified electrician for the remedial work.

Other work

Remedial work, repairs and installations are quoted separately. Your quote sets out the price and when payment is due. Your 14-day right to cancel also applies to this work when you're a consumer; if you ask us to start within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay only for the work done up to that point.

If something isn't right

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, our work must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If you think something isn't right, tell us as soon as you can and we'll come back and put it right at no cost to you. If we can't, you're entitled to a fair price reduction or a refund.

We are an NICEIC Approved Contractor. If you have a complaint about our electrical work that we haven't been able to resolve together, you can also raise it with NICEIC.

Business customers

The cancellation terms above apply to business bookings too. The consumer rights described in this policy — the 14-day cancellation right and the Consumer Rights Act — apply to consumers only.
